The story...

Wednesday, March 23, 2011 10:30 pm My water broke.
Me: "Tyson, I think my water broke."
he rolls over and sees a small wet spot on the sheets...
Tyson: "Are you sure?"
Me: "I'm pretty sure. There is a puddle in front of the toilet on the floor and my bottoms are soaked!"
So I went out on the computer and told him to stay in bed and get some sleep while I looked up to see how soon I should go to the hospital. I thought what is the difference in me staying home for a while and contracting and sitting in the hospital bed and contracting? At about midnight I started contracting and pretty much right away the were 5 min apart. But they weren't very strong at all so I thought I would get the house cleaned up a bit. I could feel that I was about to gush so I tried to make it to the bathroom, and on my way realized I wasn't going to make it. So I stepped into the kitchen on the rug. The flood gate opened!!! It was running down both legs and kept coming. It was then that I realized this was FOR REAL! I couldn't help myself but to grin from ear to ear! So I called the hospital and told them my water had broke and asked how soon I needed to come in. She asked if I was group B strep positive and I told her no, so she said I didn't need to hurry that I could get my bag together first. So I got that done and wanted to let Tyson keep sleeping as long as I could so that he wouldn't be so tired. Then I got to thinking, "I should probably go in so that when the contractions are bad I will already have my IV and I can get drugs instead of having to wait!" BRILLIANT!
So I called my friend to have her come stay with the kids and we got to the hospital about 2:00 am Thursday, March 24. She was getting my paper work done, and getting things all ready, and came in to find out that I WAS group B strep POSITIVE! They never told me that, they said if I didn't hear anything that I was negative. So I had to get my IV right away so that they could start antibiotics ASAP. So....
2:25 am- get checked. 3 cm 80%
2:50 am- get IV
3:30 am- Penicillin
4:15 am- 3 cm. start pitocin to regulate contractions
4:40 am- Stadol! So excited
7:45 am- 5 cm
8:00 am- More stadol!
9:45 am- 8 cm. Epidural. took 2 tries. I told the nurse that when it was time to start pushing I wanted it turned off so I could feel when to push.
12:15 pm- 10cm. not all the way thinned. but cervix is VERY soft.
1:15 pm- NO feeling. The nurse tells me to try pushing. Just to see...
1:25 pm- She calls for the Dr. and says I'm going to go fast. Still can't feel anything, but she tells me to keep pushing. So I had the epidural turned off.
2:01 pm- WELCOME HUXLEY! I had NO pain! I could BARELY feel anything cause the epidural didn't wear off. No tearing and everything went smooth! He even had his hand on his face when he came out!

weekend

Just a few pictures. Hunter slept a LOT this weekend. It has NEVER happened before and she finally did it. She fell asleep in a random place, somewhere other than her bed, the car seat, or the couch. The Kitchen floor! Friday afternoon. Saturday morning explained why... She woke up throwing up. Poor girl.

After she woke up we went out to the couch and she fell asleep head down! A little strange also.

She threw up from Saturday till Tuesday night. With diarrhea on top of that. And slept A LOT! The poor girl. Just when we always thought things were getting better she would puke or poo. She has not her chipper little self. So Tyson attempted to take her to the ER Tuesday night after she slept from 4-730 woke up to throw up, fell back asleep, woke up to throw up again, and then right about to walk out the door needed to make a toilet run. So at 8pm off they went and came back because the room was packed and they would have been there ALL NIGHT! So we had a friend come over and he and Tyson gave her a blessing and we kept her up till 11 to get some pedialyte in her and see if she would keep it in. She did good and things went up from there. She seems to be better, still a little whiney, but mostly back to her normal self again. She must have had a little bug, never a fever, and got dehydrated. And the rest of us have been lucky enough to not get whatever it was! What a blessing!

Wedding bells

SO CUTE! That's all I need to say. They can use these for their wedding video in 18 years!

39 week appt.

I was REALLY hoping to have a good Dr. appt. today. So up till this point I have chosen NOT to get checked because with the last 2 it just got my hopes up. So today was the first time I have been checked and I thought I would be dilated and thinned some. NOTHING! The Dr. looked up at me with a smile, so I was half way thinking he was going to give me good news... instead he says "See you next week!" That was NOT smile worthy words! So in my case I am thinking 3rd time will not be a charm. I will yet again be past my due date I'm sure! I can't complain though, yes I know I am HUGE, and look miserable, but I am actually less miserable with this one than the last two.
Look how far that belly sticks out!!! I didn't think I was that big. Looking down on it is totally different that looking at a picture side view! No wonder people keep asking me "You haven't had your baby yet?" I didn't want to do the picture thing, but since I have chosen to do a blog book each year I thought it would be a good idea since I am sure my kids will ask how big my belly was. This way I don't have to dig through albums! And it has helped me stick with my goal! So another photo courtesy of Hunter!
